Our Story
In 2000, Manuel Ruiz founded Nodesphere Technologies from a small office at 500 Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. The idea was simple: interconnect people and technology in an ever-growing market. Starting as a systems integrator serving small and mid-sized businesses, Nodesphere built scalable network infrastructures, managed ERP deployments, and provided the hands-on IT support that growing NYC companies needed to compete.
Six years later, the company was reborn as Intelligent IT NYC to better reflect its deep roots in the city and the expanding scope of its services. What started as break-fix support evolved into fully managed IT, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure — all built on the principle that proactive beats reactive, every time.
As clients grew beyond the tri-state area, so did we. Intelligent IT NYC expanded nationally, serving companies in Boston, San Diego, and across the United States. Today, we operate as Intelligent iT, part of the Intelligent Group of companies — an AI-powered managed services provider that combines 25 years of hands-on IT experience with modern automation to deliver outcomes that traditional MSPs simply cannot match.

Our Founder
Manuel Ruiz started his career on a helpdesk in 1995, supporting over 250 global users at TSI Communications Worldwide, where he rose to CTO. In 2000, he founded Nodesphere Technologies as President and Chief Engineer, building the company from the ground up at 500 Fifth Avenue. Over the next two decades, he guided the company through two reinventions — from Nodesphere to Intelligent IT NYC to Intelligent iT — always staying ahead of the technology curve while keeping the focus on practical, measurable client outcomes.
Today, Manuel leads a team of engineers, security professionals, and operations specialists who share his conviction that AI-powered automation is the future of IT services. His career spans the full stack — from helpdesk to boardroom — and that perspective shapes everything we build.
Why We Exist
Research shows employees lose an average of 22 minutes per IT disruption, with 49% of workers losing 1 to 5 hours per week to IT issues (Robert Half Technology; Unisys/HFS Research, 2023). For a 200-person company, that adds up to thousands of lost productive hours every year. Meanwhile, only 12% of organizations achieve true AI-driven IT operations — the other 88% remain stuck in costly reactive cycles (Thoughtworks/IDC, 2026).
We exist to close that gap. Our AI-first methodology replaces manual, error-prone processes with intelligent automation at every level — from predictive monitoring and zero-touch patching to automated onboarding and real-time threat response. The result: systems that run flawlessly, threats neutralized before they land, and support that resolves issues in minutes rather than days.
